Clean Air Essay Contest Prize Presentations
on Earth Day, 2002.
Thanks to the leadership of dedicated teachers, Laurier Collegiate students have been regular participants in FRW's Clean Air Program and Rouge Park Restoration projects.
Between 1997 and 2003, Laurier students helped to plant hundreds of small trees on the slopes of the closed Beare Road landfill within the Rouge Park. By 2003, the trees planted in 1997 and 1998 had grown up to fifteen feet tall and a new forest of ash, poplar, pine and spruce trees is beginning to take shape.
In 2002, Laurier Collegiate hosted the Awards Ceremony for FRW's Clean Air Poster Contest.
